Church Planter
Grace Community Church (Test)
About This Role
Church Planter Grace Community Church — Burbank, CA Grace Community Church exists to reach the community of Burbank with the love of Jesus, and our vision is bigger than any one congregation — by 2030, we are committed to planting two new churches. We recently launched our second weekend service, and that momentum is a sign of what God is doing in and through this community. This Church Planter role is not simply a job opening; it is an invitation to carry the same family culture, gospel hope, and missional courage that defines Grace Community into new territory that needs Jesus. Key Responsibilities - Prayerfully discern, develop, and execute a church planting strategy in close partnership with Grace Community Church's elder leadership and lead pastor, maintaining collaborative accountability throughout every phase of the process - Build and shepherd a launch team from the ground up, cultivating a community of disciples who are rooted in the mission, values, and "family in every way" culture of Grace Community Church from the very beginning - Preach and teach the Word faithfully, developing a rhythm of biblical preaching and contemporary, Spirit-led worship that reflects Grace Community's Arminian theological convictions - Establish Sunday gatherings, small groups, and ministry touchpoints that create genuine belonging and reflect our deep conviction that the church is a family, not just an organization - Build meaningful relationships within the target community, developing genuine connections that open doors for evangelism, pastoral care, and long-term gospel presence - Partner with Grace Community's existing ministries — including Celebrate Recovery, Grace Kids, and Grace Youth — to draw from their wisdom and experience in shaping the new church's ministry vision - Identify, develop, and mentor emerging leaders within the plant who can sustain and multiply healthy ministry well into the future - Report regularly and transparently to elder leadership, honoring Grace Community's elder-led governance structure and keeping shared discernment at the center of the planting journey Character & Competencies - A clear and demonstrable calling to church planting, marked by entrepreneurial faith, personal resilience, and a genuine shepherd's heart for people who do not yet know Jesus - Theological alignment with Grace Community's Arminian convictions and a natural comfort leading in contemporary, Spirit-attentive worship and preaching environments - Proven relational and leadership ability, with the capacity to build team culture, navigate conflict with grace, and keep people moving together toward a shared mission - Humble accountability — someone who thrives within an elder-led structure, values collaborative discernment, and sees submission to godly oversight as a strength rather than a limitation - A posture of belonging and a love for community life, embodying Grace Community's conviction that following Jesus together is always better than following him alone If you are a courageous, grounded, and deeply relational leader with a fire to see new communities find hope in Jesus, Grace Community Church is ready to send you — and we will stand with you every step of the way.
