Frequently Asked Questions

Is NarroHire a job board?

NarroHire is a hiring portal. A church opens a search and posts its own "Apply Here" link anywhere it already recruits: its website, ChurchStaffing.com, MinistryJobs.com, social media. Open Opportunities lists every active NarroHire search in one place too, so if you're a candidate who wants to browse, that page works like a small board of its own. Application, screening, video, and references all happen inside NarroHire once someone clicks through.

Does the AI make hiring decisions?

NarroHire's AI does four things: drafts your screening questions from your Church Profile, transcribes video responses, writes a summary of what a candidate shared with a citation back to the exact answer, and flags anything worth a second look. It never scores a candidate, ranks one against another, or recommends who to hire. Every decision on who advances, who's declined, and who gets an offer is made by a person on your team.

What does it cost?

Three one-time charges, never a subscription and never a per-seat fee. $99 opens a search for 60 days. $49 extends that window if you need more time, or reopens a search that recently expired. $6 is charged each time you advance a specific candidate to video screening, so you're never paying to screen someone your team hasn't actually decided is worth it.

What happens to candidate data when I close a search?

Nothing gets deleted, whether you close a search yourself or it expires automatically after 60 days. Every reference response stays on file and exports as a per-candidate PDF whenever you need it, even long after the search itself is closed.

Do candidates need to create an account?

Yes. Every candidate applies through a real, logged-in account, resume, qualifiers, and screening questions all saved to that account rather than a one-time form. That's also what lets a candidate build one portfolio and reuse it across every search they apply to on NarroHire, instead of starting over each time.

Is video screening required?

No. Advancing a candidate to video is a decision your team makes, not something that happens the moment they apply. It's a separate step and a separate $6 charge, reserved for the candidates your search committee actually wants to hear from directly.

Can I reopen a search after it closes?

If your search auto-expired after its 60 days ran out, yes. $49 reopens it for another 60 days, as long as you do it within 30 days of the expiration. If more than 30 days have passed, or if you closed the search yourself on purpose, opening a new $99 search is the way forward, and NarroHire can pre-fill it from your last one so you're not starting from scratch.

What if my church isn't part of a specific denomination?

NarroHire doesn't assume a denomination or a doctrinal position for you. Your Church Profile's theological fields are yours to fill in however fits your church, broad, specific, or somewhere in between, and any doctrinal or screening questions touching theology are ones you write yourself, not ones NarroHire generates on its own.

How can AI help me with this process?

NarroHire's AI drafts your job description, your qualifiers, and your written screening questions from your Church Profile, so you're editing a real starting point instead of writing from a blank page. Once candidates respond, it transcribes video, summarizes what was said with a citation back to the exact answer, and flags anything worth a second look. It never scores, ranks, or tells your team who to hire. That decision is yours every time.

What's the Church Profile, and do I have to fill it out?

Your Church Profile is your church's profile inside NarroHire: mission, culture, theological alignment, worship style, and more. NarroHire uses it to draft your job description and your screening questions, and a handful of fields show up on your public posting so candidates can see what your church is actually like before they apply. Every field is optional, and you choose which ones are visible publicly, separately from whether NarroHire can use them to help write your questions.

Can more than one person on our team use NarroHire?

Yes. Add staff, elders, or search committee members to your organization, each with their own login. Role-based access controls who can do what, and only Owner and Admin roles can actually change an application's status, so a reviewer can leave input without accidentally moving a candidate forward or back.

Will I know if I don't get selected for a role?

Check your tracker anytime, it always shows exactly where you stand. If a church turns you down, you'll get an email the moment it happens, every time. If the role gets filled by someone else instead, your tracker will show that too, but you might not get an email about it, so it's worth checking back instead of only waiting on your inbox.

Can I apply to more than one search at a time?

Yes. Your portfolio is built to be reused, not tied to a single application, so applying to multiple searches at once, or over time, works exactly the way you'd expect.
